Welcome to my website. I’m a doctoral candidate at the University of Minnesota. Broadly speaking, my research focuses on three topics: sovereignty, the sublime, and theories of cognition. I investigate the ways these philosophical and political concepts shaped the English Romantics’ responses to the crisis in authority that emerged during and after the 1790s.
When I’m not writing, researching, or teaching, I enjoy photography, playing the guitar (mainly bluesy, jazzy stuff), and exploring the Twin Cities, particularly its breweries, parks, and restaurants. I don’t use social media that often, but I’ve been reasonably active on Instagram—stop by to check out my music/photos. Also, I’ve recently decided to take up blogging. You can find my most recent posts here. If you’d like to get in touch, fill out my contact form.
